Biography
Composer Andrew John Kosinski has been praised for his virtuosic, turbid musical language (Theater Jones), and “efficient and effective use of time” (William Bolcom). His works have been commissioned, performed, and recorded by artists in Singapore, Romania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Texas including; The Voices of Change ensemble, the Rutgers Wind Ensemble, Jihye Chang, and Elizabeth Troxler.
As winner of the Voices of Change Composition Competition, Bar Fight of the Marionettes was performed by pianist Liudmila Georgievskaya of the Voices of Change new music ensemble. In addition to composing classical music, Kosinski is active in the world of musical theatre as a music director of equity productions, accompanist for cabarets, and co-composer of Fall Risk, the true musical story of an actress with cystic fibrosis.
An alumnus of the Brevard Music Institute, and a graduate of Rutgers University, Kosinski is currently a Music Theory Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Peabody Conservatory, where he is pursuing his Master’s Degree. Principal teachers include; Amanda Harberg, Scott Ordway, Robert Aldridge, and Kevin Puts. He has been a faculty member at the Monmouth Conservatory of Music since 2017.
