Biography
Mark Hillegass Jr. attended the College of Wooster (Wooster, OH) on a performance scholarship, earning a bachelor's degree in Music Education with an emphasis on Saxophone Performance. Since 2011, Mr. Hillegass has been teaching 10 years in Texas public schools and is a published composer. Over the course of 10 years, he has taught grades PreK-12; band, choir, orchestra, general music, music history, music theory, and leadership. He has also received various honors and awards such as being a TMEA clinician, named Teacher of the Year, was a Dallas Symphony Orchestra Music Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2019, and was named the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Music Teacher of the Year in 2020.
