Nicole Buetti

“I am inspired by art and science. Many of my children's songs, chamber and orchestral works are about astronomy, my favorite subject growing up. Subjects that are mysterious and wondrous inspire me to convey those same aspects through my music. I also enjoy creating humor and joy in my music through whimsical subject matter like gelato or comical animal situations.”

Restless Winds

Nicole Buetti was excited to get this opportunity to create a work that not only reflected what all of PYP’s young wind musicians were probably feeling during the pandemic shut down, but what the composer was going through as well. As a wind player, she was starting to feel restless and anxious being stuck inside and not getting to perform music with others. Using odd meters and pointillism, she wanted to express that restlessness in a fun and quirky way that would be enjoyable for both the audience and the players. Nicole hopes you enjoy Restless Winds!
